Dr. Susan Lipkins, a psychologist for over twenty years, is a leading expert in the field of hazing. She specializes in campus conflict and violence in high schools and colleges. She has appeared as an expert on NBC's The Today Show, The YES Network Magazine Special Report: The Scarlet Lettermen, and has been interviewed on many radio programs. In addition, she has been quoted or published in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The New York Post, The Daily News, Newsday, The Orlando Sentinel, The Contra Costa Times, The Denver Post as well as many other magazines worldwide.
As a hazing expert, she has addressed audiences in many settings from high school students at Great Neck North to the Executive Citizenship Committee of the National Federation of High Schools. Further speaking engagements include:

Dr. Lipkins, author of Preventing Hazing: How Parents, Teachers and Coaches Can Stop the Violence, Harassment and Humiliation, is also involved in promoting federal legislation which will address vital issues related to hazing and school violence.
In 2002, Dr. Lipkins established a production company, Reel Psychology, with the primary goal of creating films and television programs that help reduce the stigma towards psychological issues. She has produced a program entitled: "Sleepless in America" and is currently creating a documentary entitled "Betrayal", which tells the stories of hazardous hazings in high schools across America. She intends to produce training videos on hazing for use with parents, teachers, coaches, colleges and students.
Dr. Lipkins' first investigative research occurred under the direct supervision of Dr. Margaret Mead, and resulted in a paper entitled Marriage Patterns on the Kibbutz. Her master's thesis, The Process of Art in Young Children and her doctoral dissertation, Recurrent Abdominal Pain in Pre-Adolescent Girls, are among her early works.
Dr. Lipkins has been a school psychologist, and a consultant. She has taught in various settings, including college, hospitals and day care centers.
Dr. Lipkins earned her B.A. from Fordham University, and a M.S. in Early Childhood Education and Special Education from Bank Street College of Education. She also has a M.S. and Ph.D. in School Psychology from Yeshiva University. Dr. Lipkins graduated from Adelphi University's Derner Institute, receiving post-doctoral certification in Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy.
Dr. Lipkins is a member of the American Psychological Association, the Nassau County Psychological Association and The National Institute of Sports-Division of Sports Psychologists.
