FONTANA, Calif. — Southern California police say three boys were assaulted by fellow summer school students in hazing incidents that were known about by their teacher.

Fontana police Sgt. Robert Morris said Monday the three victims were assaulted in three incidents that occurred in the classroom of 27-year-old teacher Emmanuel Delarosa at A.B. Miller High School since summer school began May 31. The alleged hazing was intended to enforce classroom discipline.

Delarosa was arrested during the weekend for investigation of child cruelty along with four of his students. One of them, 18-year-old Fernando Salgado, was arrested for investigation of assault with attempt to commit mayhem or rape and attempted sodomy. The other three students are minors.

Morris declined further comment.

It was not immediately possible to reach Delarosa or Salgado for comment.
