CONWAY, S.C. - Coastal Carolina University has suspended a fraternity for seven years after a suspected hazing incident left two students in the hospital.
Officials said students interested in joining Pi Kappa Alpha attended a party in downtown Conway on Jan. 28. They were lined up, and a bottle of alcohol was handed to one student. The bottle was to be emptied by the time it reached the end of the line, officials said.
Two male students, age 18 and 21, were found in alcohol-induced comas and taken to Conway Medical Center.
